I bought a slightly used 2006. It's a great bike for a great price. It has good power from 6K on up. If you are a new rider, this is perfect for you as it is very tame under that. You will be able to troll around below that range easily for a while until you get a good understanding of the bike! The good thing is that you will still have good acceleration, well compared to cars that is! Other than that, life is pretty fun after 6K. Coming from Kawasaki I can say that Suzuki is worth all the hype as it is a very capable machine. I can see why they sell/win as much as they do! Will I buy another Suzuki - yes. Have fun and be safe.

After riding dirt for a number of years I decided to go to street and this was the best choice in my mind. The power band is shockingly smooth and seems to be quite condusive for noob riders. But make no mistake once you crank that puppy, it wants to fly! This bike is def worth the money and I would say it's tailored to all skill levels as long as you respect it. As far as comfort goes - It's a sport bike, I obviously didn't buy it for that, but it's not bad. The feel of the seat is my only complaint.

If you're looking into buying a sportbike, I would highly reccommend a Gixxer 600. A gixxer in general is a great bike but the 600 series is an all around amazing motorcycle. If you're looking into buying a sportbike, I would highly reccommend a Gixxer 600. A gixxer in general is a great bike but the 600 series is an all around amazing motorcycle. It has a serious power band after 7k RPMs but also has a low key side to it for just cruising thru town. The twistys don't even phase the 600. It's light weight, tight handling, and sport suspension will allow you to corner with very minimal effort. Overall, I think the Gixxer the most comfortable, reliable, and fun 600 series made and would highly recommend one to any new or experienced rider looking to get a new bike.

This is my very first bike. I learned to ride on a '97 GSX-R 750. I surfed the web a lot trying to determine which bike I wanted to go with. I looked at all the different reviews. Almost went with another brand. However, due to what I heard about the other brand's customer service, I decided to go with the GSXR. I am COMPLETELY satisfied and glad that I did. My bike has gotten nothing but looks and praise from everyone. It handles like a dream; the powerband is awesome and can beat up all day long on the old 750 I learned on. I bought the bike with 9000 miles on and I've already put 500 miles on it in less than a month. Comfort-wise, it can be somewhat aggressive, but not as aggressive as some. I've noticed that if I rest my arms on my knees when tucked, it takes the pressure off my wrists and I could ride like that for hours. The power is really strong. It actually scared me when I was getting used to it. It pulls like a bull on steroids. It's very easy to get out of sticky situations or get around cars with just a twist of the throttle - even if you're just cruising in 6th gear. The color really makes it stand out - especially the fastest color - blue/white. The blue wheels really set it apart from the rest. I've been at bike shops and everyone wants to know about my bike. If I had to do it all again, I'd get another Gixxer. I'm sold on Suzuki. They make a great product - both for the track and the street.

This bike is so far and away the best performing motorcycle I have ever owned. I have been riding for 44+ years and owned 19 sportbikes since 1978. Nothing is even close. Nothing phases this machine. The motor is perfectly responsive, as is the gearbox & clutch. It handles better and steers lighter than my previous '04 GSXR600. The riding position is the most comfortable sportbike I have ridden. I could easily sport tour on this thing without changing a thing. It is so easy to ride under any circumstances. In traffic, it remains completely docile and tractable. No matter where or how you ride, it never loses it's composure. But when you use that final 1/8th turn of the throttle, you better have a very clear cut understanding of where you are headed. Definitely a split personality with manic tendancies when you pull out all stops and let her rip!

It's not a very friendly 2 seater, and it has a tendency to overheat a bit in dense traffic. A word of advice, THIS IS NOT A GOOD 1st BIKE! Do the smart thing, get something that you won't feel too bad if you fall with it. I had a Katana 600 as a first bike for 15000 Km, then tried a YZF 600 for 2000 Km, then bought my Gixxer. I think that my riding evolution makes me appreciate this bike even more. It takes a lot of maturity to keep this bike within the speed limit.

This bike has tons of power, can handle with the best of them, and is comfortable up to about an hour straight ride. It is my third bike and by far the all around best. I have yet to find a bike that could hang with mine (most of the liter bike guys can't keep their front wheels down). A Two Bros exhaust sounds great and looks great. Overall, the styling of the bike makes it stick out in a crowd! A perfect bike in my mind! Tons of FUN!!
