2001 Yamaha V Star Classic

You will not see a Bike that looks like this anywhere in the world because the Art and some fabricated parts are original.

2001 Yamaha Road Star Silverado

What a deal! Six years ago, I was on my way to see a Harley Softail Heritage Classic and pulled into my Yamaha dealer first. I'm glad I did. I got soooo much more bike for the money. The reliability has been the best I've ever had (been riding over 30 years). It's been ridden to VT, TN, FL and I...

The reliability has been the best I've ever had (been riding over 30 years). It's been ridden to VT, TN, FL and I can sit in the stock seat all day long. The stock tires lasted 20k miles! This is the best bike I ever owned.

My 2001 Midnight Star is more of a bike than I coud have ever hoped for. I bought it used off the internet from a car dealership in Florida and was kind of skeptical about what I would recieve. Man was I thrilled with what was delivered. It was in like new condition and ran like a dream. All my friends love the way that it looks, sounds, and rides. The Harley riders still put it down because it is a Yamaha but end up being quiet after I blow by them on the interstate. Yamaha has out done the competition in the cruiser class when they introduced the Roadstar line of motorcycles.

I've owned and ridden everything from a 50cc ATC to an Electra Glide. Overall, the Road Star is my all time favorite. I love the power, sound and handling. It's an exceptional machine. I am VERY pleased with my Midnight. The reason for the four-star comfort rating is highly personal -- being 6'4" doesn't put me in the "fit most people" category. I purchased the bike in July '05; at the time, it had just over 2k miles. Today, (November '05) it has well over 12,000 miles. Needless to say, this baby doesn't get much time to rest. It is ridden virtually every day with NO major problems or concerns. I love it, my wife loves it, my buds are envious. I especially enjoy riding with those who have Harleys --- for several reasons: My bike is ALWAYS ready to go; we can run off and leave just about all of them; my YamaHog runs smoother and gets better MPG; we have more money for nicer rooms and better food ;-). When shopping for a motorcycle, I found a Harley which was smaller, was 5 years OLDER yet was selling for twice the price I paid for my Star (actually more than twice). My only regret is buying from the place that I did.

Have had the V Star 1100 Classic now for a year and it has been a great bike. Looks good, has all the options on it and is pretty comfortable to ride. Would like a 6th gear to quiet her down a bit on the highway. And would like a different oil location, but other than those two things, this is a...

I bought my V-Star 1100 two years ago and have had a blast on this machine since. No problems, just routine maintenance and TLC is all this beefy beast requires. I recently completed a 22 state POSSE ride with the HOG group and only a handful of the Harley riders noticed my bike was not a Harley. I rode every state west of the Mississippi with them without a hitch. The Rocky Mountains were a test for me and my skills, more than they were for my V-Star. It performed well in the elevations and had plenty of power reserve to handle the inclines. I also enjoyed the superb braking and ease of handling this bike gave me on the trip because those Rocky Mountain inclines are soon followed by steep declines and curves that make a person hug the the seat. The V-Star is well balanced and has a low center of gravity making it your partner when it comes to staying up-right. I wouldn't trade this bike for any other... really. I will buy a Harley though, then of course will come the time when I will have to choose which of the two fine machines to ride that day. P.S. Those Harley owners who did notice my bike were understanding and kind and each one expressed delight that at least I was riding. It's because of the kindness of these folks and my love of riding that I will get a Harley someday. The HOG group rocks!

I bought my 1100 Custom new in 2001. I have ridden bikes for 30 years and I always dreamed of owning an H-D Soft Tail. In fact, I ordered one. But before the 12 month wait was up, I walked into a Yamaha Dealer and saw this beauty sitting on the showroom floor. After looking the bike over I decided it was the sharpest looking stock bike I had ever seen. The kicker was that I could get this bike for less than half of what I was paying for the Soft Tail I ordered! I read reviews, talked to people, and thought long and hard. I finally told the H-D dealer to keep the Soft Tail. That may have been the best decision I've ever made as far as purchasing a bike. Many times I've been told, "Hey, nice Harley." To which I quickly reply, "Thanks, but it's not a Harley." I've come out of stores before and found groups of people admiring my bike. That says a lot and pushes the cool points for this bike way up the scale. I've added a sissy bar and Cobra drag slip-ons (with removable baffles, heh, heh). I am so happy with everything about this bike, I'm thinking about selling it and buying a new one just like it. Except, this time I think I'll go with the "Raven" blacked-out version.

I have consistently attained better than 40 mpg city and 46 hwy, no problems of any kind, smooth ride, great power. It handles me (large) and my wife with ease. We have ridden it from FL to TN and back and thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the riding in the mountains. Both turns at speed and low speed (in the parking lot) handling is a dream. I would recommend that anyone should try a Yamaha Royal Star Venture, I believe that you will be more than satisfied!!
