Great bike that can start you off and carry you for a few years with some room to grow. Makes smooth, even power, and gets good fuel economy (about 44 mpg on my commute). Not so good for much taller riders (I’m 76” and it would be a little uncomfortable after an hour on the saddle). Easy to service, very reliable, modern fuel injected bike. Forgiving but confident handling and good ride quality. Bike is nice and stable and instills confidence in the rider. Inputs are all well calibrated and the bike feels natural to interact with.

I bought a used 2009 Yamaha FZ6R with only 3400 miles on it! I've owned several motorcycles before, like Honda CBR600F4, 2 Honda Nighthawks and a Yamaha Seca II. This bike is a blend of the CBR and Nighthawk. It's comfortable, agile and fun on twisty roads. I like the fact that it has an adjustable seat height and an upright riding position (with actual handlebars). I don't like that it doesn't have a gear indicator. As stated, it is fun to ride and easy to work on. The fairings are easily removed, and oil changes are a snap. Like most motorcycles, the stock exhaust is very quiet and boring. I swapped mine out with a Two Brothers Racing exhaust, and man, what a difference! Overall, very pleased with the bike. I think it would make a great beginner bike for someone looking to get into motorcycling.

It was a great bike, but I didn't really think it was for me. Just a year later, since I had $$, I started looking for another bike. Found my 07 v star 1300 sitting on a street corner that had been there for awhile ( about 8 months). Once I was able to find the owner and test ride it ,found out it had a dead cylinder. Anyway, after agreeing with the owner that I would purchase the bike if I could take it to a shop and get it running, he allowed me to take it and 7 days and $107 later, the bike was mine. It is a perfect fit for me. I even tried to sell it but it's mine. So I ended up buying a trailer for it to be able to do some traveling with it.

I have owned 2 bikes before the FZ1; the '07 Kawi z750s, and the 03 Kawi ZZR1200. This is by far the most fun and comfortable bike I've ever owned. Super light and nimble feeling. It has enough power to bring the front end up with no problem, yet smooth enough throttle where it never happens by accident. Never ran too hot, as apposed to both of my Kawis that would cook my legs. The main complaint is that there isn't enough aftermarket support for the naked bikes as apposed to the sport bikes. Nonetheless, the FZ/MT line of bikes are a great choice!

Beautiful bike handles wonderful I’ve loved Yamaha from the beginning so I finally bought one. I bought this bike brand new and it has just been a great bike to ride. The only beef I have with it is that it is sometimes uncomfortable on long haul you’re in an extremely forward café position. It’s aggressive position to ride in. Great for the track but not the most comfortable for long holes. Performance is excellent qualities excellent reliabilities is excellent. Never had a mechanical issue at all starts every time bike took good care of me I owned it for 10 years, I would definitely buy Yamaha again
