What a deal! Six years ago, I was on my way to see a Harley Softail Heritage Classic and pulled into my Yamaha dealer first. I'm glad I did. I got soooo much more bike for the money. The reliability has been the best I've ever had (been riding over 30 years). It's been ridden to VT, TN, FL and I can sit in the stock seat all day long. The stock tires lasted 20k miles! This is the best bike I ever owned.

My 2001 Midnight Star is more of a bike than I coud have ever hoped for. I bought it used off the internet from a car dealership in Florida and was kind of skeptical about what I would recieve. Man was I thrilled with what was delivered. It was in like new condition and ran like a dream. All my friends love the way that it looks, sounds, and rides. The Harley riders still put it down because it is a Yamaha but end up being quiet after I blow by them on the interstate. Yamaha has out done the competition in the cruiser class when they introduced the Roadstar line of motorcycles.

I've owned and ridden everything from a 50cc ATC to an Electra Glide. Overall, the Road Star is my all time favorite. I love the power, sound and handling. It's an exceptional machine. I am VERY pleased with my Midnight. The reason for the four-star comfort rating is highly personal -- being 6'4" doesn't put me in the "fit most people" category. I purchased the bike in July '05; at the time, it had just over 2k miles. Today, (November '05) it has well over 12,000 miles. Needless to say, this baby doesn't get much time to rest. It is ridden virtually every day with NO major problems or concerns. I love it, my wife loves it, my buds are envious. I especially enjoy riding with those who have Harleys --- for several reasons: My bike is ALWAYS ready to go; we can run off and leave just about all of them; my YamaHog runs smoother and gets better MPG; we have more money for nicer rooms and better food ;-). When shopping for a motorcycle, I found a Harley which was smaller, was 5 years OLDER yet was selling for twice the price I paid for my Star (actually more than twice). My only regret is buying from the place that I did.

The opening title says it all. I have a '01 roadstar silverado, I purchased used. I got it for a great price and can't say enough good things about this bike. Having owned 3 harley's in the past (sportster, and 2 old shovelheads) I can honestly say I have no regrets of buying this bike. I have owned it for 3 weeks now and have put over 1500 miles on it, all pretty much weekend riding so far with an after work ride on occasion and haven't had a single problem. Only problem so far is finding the time to ride. I plan on going to sturgis this year (1800 miles one way) and I'm not trailering!!!! Bottom line is if you want a great looking, powerful, good sounding, comfortable and dependable bike look no farther than a roadstar silverado. As for sound, if you want it loud they make pipes for it... if you want it quiet keep it stock. I have to laugh after owning Harley's in the past I haven't been drowned out by a louder bike yet. So far I have set off 2 car alarm's (to my knowledge) not trying to. The looks I get are great and I love this bike. You can't go wrong with this choice, I found out the hard way thinking harley made the only bike I would ever need. So if your ego is in check by a roadstar, if you worry what the other people will think, well hang your head and buy the H-D. Just hope it's the right model or year for whomever you're wanting to impress. I on the other hand am happy as can be with my Silverado.

I ride from 150 to 450 miles in one day. I have never been disappointed in the comfort and reliability of this bike. I think the windshield is a must for touring and the saddlebags are adequate for short trips. I have replaced them with larger bags, but the OEM bags were the best fit for the Road Star Style.

It's plenty powerful, and really looks sharp. It's a bike that can be easily customized, and the price is right.

My only concerns are a rattle in the dash and lots of brake dust build-up on the rear wheel. The bike is very low mileage and maybe the pads haven't bedded in yet. It still is the best bike I've owned in my 33 years of riding.

I love my Road Star, With a few minor add ons it not looks better than a Harley it out preforms them. Bub Stubby exhaust,S&S air cover, lowering kit are a few of the accessorys I have added...The biker image of the past is gone... Grab what you can afford. And will see ya in Sturgis
