After 20 years without a dirt bike, I got the Jones for something to hit the backcountry with. The last bike I really had a great time on was a KDX220, but I didn't really want a 2 smoke. I looked at CRF and TTR 230s and then CRF and WR 250s, and this bike almost slipped through the cracks. For...

For my type of riding, though, I'm extremely happy with it. These are rock-solid all-day trail and dirt road bikes that will plug along (like a tractor, as one poster put it) or pull right up with the pack. The rear disc, stronger engine and better suspension puts it way ahead of the 230s and lighter trail bikes, and it does seem like a much bigger bike, maybe a drawback for some. I think it carries its weight kind of high, but it is very nimble and stable on rocky and tight trails. That said, it's not a WR or a YZ250. If you want to jump triples or roost on your buddies, save your money and get the bike you really need. This ain't it, and the boards are right - there aren't a lot of performance options for them. I'm very happy with it, and very happy to be keeping one of these fine bikes in circulation. Matter of fact I might get another one, I like this so much.

I have one now, it's a really good bike. It goes good over dirt jumps and hills and mud, but I can never get it into 1st gear. I always just start in 2nd. It has a speed block in it, and will stop at about a quarter of it's power at top gear and go about 35-40...

This bike is the best 125 four stroke of its time. It pulls out of the hole nice. It also handles the turns great. This will smoke Honda's, Suzuki's, and KTM's. The only other four stroke 125 that can run with it is a Kawasaki. So if you're going to buy a 125 four stroke, get this...

My boyfriend bought me the TTR 230 last year. I was a brand-new rider with no experience. The 230 has plenty of power, is great for trail riding, and even took me through a motocross academy with ease. I have put it through whoops, jumps, corners, sand and mud. I broke up with my boyfriend...

My boyfriend bought me the TTR 230 last year. I was a brand-new rider with no experience. The 230 has plenty of power, is great for trail riding, and even took me through a motocross academy with ease. I have put it through whoops, jumps, corners, sand and mud. I broke up with my boyfriend 4 months ago and he took the bike away, so I've been out test riding every manufaturer's bike. The TTR 230 is, by far, my very favorite. I am buying a new one tomorrow! The electric start is fantastic, the bike is easy to pick-up off the ground (I should know, I've picked it up entirely too many times..hahaha.) Be sure to get a set of handlebar brush guards - they are very helpful. Two thumbs and 10 toes up!

I bought a new TTR-230 this year (2007) in January. I still have my old XR 200 (1982) also which I completely rebuilt for enduro (trail races) but the TTR-230 is about 500,000 times better! It is fast, corners good and everybody that has ridden it wants to have one. don't mind no kick starter. If I...

Amazing what Yamaha achieved designing this little powerhouse with its wide range powerband!

I like this bike a lot! I don't know how all those other people can say it sucks. She runs great and I have never had a problem with it. It is a four stroke and handles like one, it can get up the big hills and speed up when you want it to. Overall, a great...

The Yamaha TTR-125 is a great bike. It has a good amount of power. It is a good bike for beginners that are learning how to use a cluch. It is a good bike for what it is meant for. The TTR-125 is not much of a track bike. It is mostly meant for off roading and messing around on. This is a great...

I have had the bike since April 2005, 36,568kms on the clock now, bunch of mods, can not get enough. Little issues with head wind and trying to sit on 110kph with all the camping gear. City, bush, sand dunes, all good. 800km day was sore but felt less tired than a car, no issues at all with bike...

This bike is sweet, it can handle almost anything you throw at it. I've had the bike for 8 months and only managed to break about 5 spokes, and I really ride hardcore. This is the first bike I have every owned so I decided to get something smaller to start off with. But now I will be upgrading to...

This is the first bike I have every owned so I decided to get something smaller to start off with. But now I will be upgrading to the wr250f. With a few dollars spent I have got the bike to top out at 80 mph. (clocked beside a mustang)

I have been racing fourwheelers all my life and decided to get the bike this past December. I know how bikes work and all but decided I better not get a racing bike as my first dirtbike. This is an amazing bike. I've had it up to about 70 which is pretty good and I paid next to nothing for the bike. It is a great bike for intermediate riders and if you want speed out of it, all you need to do is get a big gun exhaust system, jet it and get a good air filter. It will keep up with all the other bikes and you can get suspension for it and it will keep up even on the mx track. It is a great bike for the price that you pay!
