I came across this bike from an owner and after talking with him, I bought it.($4,200.00) I have replaced front tire and oil change so far. Touched up some stone chips and buffed and polished the bike. I'm getting 36-43 miles to the gallon.

I recently got rid of my V-Star 1100 Custom and my wife's V-Star 650 Classic. The thinking was we would buy a 'Geezer Glide' that we would both be comfortable on. I picked up a '99 Venture w/28000 miles on it and LOVE IT! Aside from it being a total beast at slow speeds, it is so easy and comfortable to ride. The finish quality is very nice, the V-4 is awesome and no one knows what the heck I'm riding. It's not for beginners but there is no way I would consider paying $35k+ for a stock HD when there is a beuaty like this out there that is more comfortable, more powerful and nicer looking at half the price!

My wife of 33 years and I are enjoying riding this machine. It handles real well on the highway and in parking lots after you learn the bike. I've added lots of extras and just had it pinstriped. I'll buy another one when this gets to 150,000 miles. Super machine!!... read more

I had purchased a 2003 V-Star 1100 Silverado Classic off the dealer floor and loaded it with lots of upgrades. My father in Houston wanted a bike too. He got his hands on the 1999 Venture and found that it was too much bike for someone just starting to ride. He was 67 at the time and had never ridden. Long story short, we traded. Best thing I have ever done. The Venture is solid, loaded with lights, bells, whistles, and feels great. There is a lot of discussion regarding rider height. Yes, the taller the rider the better. The bike sits a little tall. I have never had a problem starting the bike. If you have ridden sport bikes or cruisers and find that you are ready to have cruise, stereo, cb, and let the world blow by while you lay back and enjoy everything, then this bike is for you.

I have consistently attained better than 40 mpg city and 46 hwy, no problems of any kind, smooth ride, great power. It handles me (large) and my wife with ease. We have ridden it from FL to TN and back and thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the riding in the mountains. Both turns at speed and low speed (in the parking lot) handling is a dream. I would recommend that anyone should try a Yamaha Royal Star Venture, I believe that you will be more than satisfied!!

Bought this model used this spring and have been very pleased with my purchase. It cruises well at legal highway speeds with some vibration in the foot boards and seat at higher speeds. Great mileage and very comfortable even with stock seat. Very heavy feeling and a little cumbersome in parking lots. Bike wants to fall into turns at very slow speeds. Not a real canyon carver at highway speeds but very managable when cruising. Which this bike does very well.
