Honda Gold Wing SE reviews

Good reliable motorcycle. Last 300,00 miles. They are carbureted so they need tune ups. They are quick on take off and are fairly quiet . They have cab radios and am/ fm cassette players . The SE comes with air shocks and an on board compressor. It also has reverse. Show less

This bike beats anything I have ever owned in my life. I have been driving since I was 17 years old & I'm now 53 & I have owned many bikes in my days from rice burning dirt bikes to this ultimate machine. Wife has spine problems & loves the comfort of the ride better than the Blazer. Show less

I have owned many GoldWings.The 1998 SE I now own is the best by far. I often ride 2 up and pull a Bushtec trailer. The bike performs great. Never any probllems. I travel with friends with BWM1200LT, another one has an 1800 Wing and the rest all ride 1500's. Over all, the 1500 is the most trouble free and low maintenance bike on the road. I know a lot of people with over 200,000 miles on their Wings and still going strong. I had 108,000 on my 92 and only sold it because of the deal I got on my 98. My wife say if I want an 1800 to go get one, but with only 30,000 miles on my 98, it'll be a long time before I part with my 2nd. love (my wife being my first). Show less

I got my 2000 Goldwing SE in April of 2000 and hated to have to put it up for the winter here in Missouri. Love the comfort and power the 1500 has. Just wish there were more hours in the day to ride it. Honda made a perfect bike and the 2001 is nice, but will stay with the 1500 until they decide to put the extras back on instead of making them optional. Ride the wind on a Wing (GOLDWING). Show less

At the end of Nov. I traded my 97 SE for the first 1800 my dealer received. The 97 was dead reliable and never missed a beat. NOW, the 1800 As I pulled out of the dealer's lot I thought I was on a sport bike. Handling and POWER are to be experienced. Try it you'll like (love) it. Show less

I have over 86,000 miles on my 96 SE. Put them all there myself with no problems. With the exception of an alternator, tires, brakes, oil, & filters. One of the best bikes I have ever owned. I have a buddy with 285,000 miles on a 88 so I am trying to catch up. If all makes of motorcycles were made this good, nobody would bother with automobiles. Show less

I have wanted a motorcycle since 1971. At that time we lived in another city an met friends that owned and vacationed on motorcycles as couples. I immediately wanted to join them but my wife said we had children to raise and it would have to wait. 28 years later I bought my brand new Goldwing SE in Candy Apple Red with matching full-face helmets with built in mic and speakers and a pull behind trailer. We have replaced all the reflectors with lights, added backrest, arm rests, rear speaker control, mud flaps, belly pan and wind deflectors. Have made two nice trips with those same couples from 1971 and I can't say how pleased I am with the bike and the experience. Now my wife says we shouldn't have waited. The bike has performed flawlessly and what little service that has been needed was excellent. This machine will serve my needs for many, many years. Recommend it to anyone wanting to travel the distance. Good roads and fair skies to you all! Show less

Who ever compared the Goldwing to a Buick and calls it "extremely ugly" and then calls himself a motorcyclist, in the same sentence, was probably catching a glimpse of his old lady in the rear view mirror of his Harley! And by the way, If HD built an airplane, would you be stupid enough to ride in it? Show less

I currently own a 1996 1500SE that has Approximately 25,000 miles on it. This machine is modified slightly in the suspension, and I am running on Bridgestone Exedra tires. My wife and I have just returned from a 3,000-mile trip and I can say this is a wonderful machine. It handled all tasks very well and is the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden on. I have a racing background and was concerned about handling in the beginning, but after riding this bike for a short time I have surprised many sportbike riders with it's cornering abilities. I don't think I would tour on anything else at this point. Show less

Traveled from UK to fulfil life's ambition (with wifey) bought bike in Mass. visited relatives in Maine then set off (with wifey & trailer & camping gear) to tour the beautiful USA. 20,000 miles later this machine was still purring and totally on top of its work. We visited all corners (including the 'Four Corners') and the bike never missed a beat. It was a total pleasure to ride, was serviced in Beverly, Mass; Las Vegas, Nevada; Billings, Montana, and Naples, Florida. Two new tyres fitted Billings & Tucson (one each time). Met more people because of the matching white GW & trailer than for any other reason. Loved them both so much that we imported them into the UK in May 2000 Show less
