This is the best bike I have ever owned....I have had several,I usually buy a bike after looking for a while for the best deal, enjoy for a little bet (a few months or so) then flip them. I have had a Ninja, FJR 1300 Star 1100 and others (I really enjoyed them all)But this bike I am holding on to... I highly recommend it,the torque is incredible it reaches 60 in about 3.5 seconds. It is a blast at the light to feel that power and knowing that you can break free of 99% of any vehicle on the road,(not that I drive like a maniac)but sometimes you want to break loose of the traffic and have some fun. I also have never had a mechanical problem with this bike it is extremely dependable .Like one of the members of my bike group said:All you need to no is gas and oil...

The torque is awesome. The power doesn't seem to change with a passenger either. My thighs kind of sit on the rear of the tank, and I wanted to find a bib that covers the whole width of the tank at the rear. So far, the only guy I've found that makes such a thing retired.

This is my 5th bike in 3 years. Had just bought a VTX1300C and in less than a month wanted the 1800. Definitely a nice muscle bike. More bang for the buck too. Has more metal chrome than plastic. This one is a "keeper"! Test drove a H-D_VRod 1250. The VTX smokes it.

Heavy but Nimble I have owned my '06 VTX 1800F Spec 3 for over a year and have loved every minute of it. Those who say it has power are severely underestimating this machine. This thing is a brute and nothing to date has been able to keep up. It eats other bikes for lunch, and you don't need to be a mechanic to own one. Just fuel it up and go. But be ready for the gas bill, because nobody can ride this thing with reservation. The amount of power this monster has is insane! The first time I got on the throttle I nearly fell off. I was not expecting that much torque. So if you're brave enough, go buy one and don't waste another day riding anything else. Reliability is top notch! Push the start button and it growls to life. Idle is smooth with a slight lope. You better bring ear plugs with the Vance and Hines Big Shots! My rear does get a little sore though after about an hour. I am still trying to decide what seat to buy. But between the looks, power and shear performance, this bike rocks. It is definitely not for the faint of heart. What are you waiting for? Join the fun!

Clearly this bike lives up to its part dragster, part street bike label. Mine is a Spec 3 and looks great sitting in the driveway and even better on the move. It's a big bike and I've received many, many compliments and many "What is it?questions. The '05 has a very subtle tank emblem and outside of the few, discreetly placed Honda markings, it is difficult to immediately identify as a Honda.
Reliability - 5 stars. I bought this '05 brand new in early '07. I have put about 1200 miles on it without a single problem.
Performance - 5 stars. It has more than enough power throughout the band. It cruises comfortably at 75 mph. It has very good acceleration and excellent braking. Not sure which I like best: the acceleration or the handling. Together they're awesome! The extra wide rear tire adds so much handling it's almost idiot proof.
Comfort - 5 stars. The seat is very comfortable for trips up to about an hour, which is nearly every ride (one way). I might recommend different than factory seat for long, cross-country touring. The handle bar and grip position and placement are perfect for a taller person.
Quality - 5 stars. This is typical Honda quality. Expect nothing less than the best. This is my third Honda cruiser; all have been perfect. Attention to detail is really appreciated.

If you ride it hard, like most of us like to ride, it gets hungry. Around town I like to show my stuff and it costs me at the pump. The only drawback is the seat. I bought a corbin young guns and now I can sit there for a five and six hour ride without crying. I bought this bike for the performance. Love this bike.

I have owned the VTX for over a year and have logged over 6000 miles. The bike is what it is, a good, reliable, power cruiser. It has tons of torque and good horsepower. The gas mileage is poor, 32mpg or less cruising and if playing, well you don't need to ask, it is much less. This may be due to the 110c.i. or 1800cc motor along with the fact that it weighs over 700 pounds. Little advice - don't drop it or you will be looking for someone to help you pick it up. I lost my balance backing it into a parking spot on a slight incline and almost dropped it once. It took all I had to save it and upright it. It handles like a Cadillac and slow speed turns require some skill and balance. Pros-reliable, looks good and sounds good with V&H pipes, fairly comfortable on long rides (I am comparing it to a GSXR) with lot's of aftermarket parts and accessories that don't cost an arm and a leg like HD. Cons-poor mpg, small fuel tank and range, handles ok at best, need the big motor to move that heavy bike what a pig, comfort not great especially if over 6 feet tall they do make forward controls but I didn't want to spend the money(because I want to sell it). If you are tossing around the idea of a V-rod, and have the money, do it. I am wishing I would have saved another year and bought that. Yes, I have ridden both and the Harley is way faster and more comfortable if you are taller in stature. It is also more agile as it weighs less. I have also heard good things about the reliability from that motor. Also this is my opinion (obviously) I am a sport bike rider converted to cruiser as most of my buddies now have HDs, or custom choppers, so my opinion of the performance may be somewhat biased and skewed given what I am used to. Overall, a great bike I would not buy again as there are many choices out there and you might as well get to ride as many as you can before you bite the big one. Be safe and ride it like you stole it.
