I bought my 2004 VTX 1300 used in early April 2007. It only had 1497 miles on it when I picked it up! It's a great bike but I'm not crazy about the plastic chrome and the motor sounds like it has a little rattle in the front. I don't know if this is normal or not! This is my first cruiser and love it. I have driven sport and dirt all my life and decided to give this a shot. (it takes longer to heal the older you get) Easy to ride, handles well in traffic and plenty of power for crusing. The only complaint is the stock seat, numb bum after a hundred miles and you don't get used to it. I bought an Ultimate seat and now can ride all day.

Awesome bike! I had a Yamaha 1100 Vstar and got rid of it - too small. The Honda VTX 1300 is the best bike I have ever owned. It has more power and rides better than I had hoped. I put sampson pipes and a pro hypercharger on it and had it dyno tuned. I was comming back from Sturgis last year with a passenger and fully loaded, and still got 50 mpg. My butt did not even get tired. The handling in the rain was perfect.

Ever since I sat on the bike, and put my feet flat on the floor, and after I could feel how comfortable I felt on the seat, I knew the bike was for me. I am a short guy, but big in stature. I like the fact that my bike is 1300 cc's of raw power. I bought the bike in Maryville Tennessee. They gave me a killer deal and great service. I rode the bike back to Orlando Florida where I am from. What a rush. The bike is totally bad!!! Performance and riding all in one!!! This bike moves, I even left those other riders with me (all riding Harleys) in my dust!!! Thanks Honda for making the best bike ever!!!

AFTER 20 PLUS YEARS OF NOT RIDING, I PURCHASED A USED 1982 HONDA MAGNA AND PUT 10K PLUS MILES ON DURING THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. I DECIDED TO BUY A NEW MOTORCYCLE AND AFTER 6-9 MONTHS OF COMPARING ALL MAKES AND MODELS, I DECIDED ON A 2004 HONDA VTX 1300R. IT'S BEEN 2 YEARS AND 22K MILES LATER AND I COULDN'T BE MORE SATISIFIED. I've BEEN TO NORTH CAROLINA(745 MILES IN ONE DAY)AND AVERAGE 200-300 MILES ON MOST DAYS OFF. I've MADE NO SEAT CHANGE BUT DO HAVE A GEL PAD ON THE SEAT FOR THE LONG RIDES. I WOULD BUY THE SAME MOTORCYCLE AGAIN AND FROM THE SAME DEALER. I ONLY EXPECT ADDITIONAL SERVICE AND ACCESSORIES WITH THE NEW OWNER. THANKS AGAIN.

I have had my 1300 Retro for almost two years now and it is one of the "most fun" motorcycles I have ever owned. It has enough power to come on strong if that is what you like or it can get out on the highway and run 75 all day long without any problems. I upgraded the seat to an Ultimate with backrest because the stock seat was just not up to snuff but other than that the bike is as I bought it. I threw on a few other extras such as Rivco highways pegs and J&M amplified speakers to support my XM radio. I have been on two fair trips on this bike and have no complaints but only praise. Nice change of pace from my Wing.

Now I'm at 16500 miles and it's due to have valve clearance checked, meaning I have to give it up for a day. It's like leaving my kid with a sitter for the first time. Overall, it's the best machine I have ever owned.
