The red white and blue paint job does set the VF1000R apart from the others. The only modifications I have made is I put some Yashimira slip-ons. The one problem that I have run into is that the engine produces so much heat which is trapped in the body that on hot days while driving in the city. I would experience a vapor lock while waiting for red lights. Good points: Looks Good! Extremely powerful and fun to ride. Not so good: Heavy, tends to run hot.

If you're looking for a great looking used motorcycle, and don't want to be like everyone else, think VF1000R. Only a few thousand were imported into the U.S., so seeing one is pretty rare. The high points of the bike are; typical Honda reliability, build quality and comfort. The low points; VERY HEAVY, aftermarket parts (pipes, bodywork, etc...) are hard to find, and it's not very good in the tight twisties. If you ride mostly long sweeping curves, you'll really like this bike. It's a poor mans RC-30 or GSXR750 Limited.
