Purchased a near mint KE with a clean title approximately 6 months ago. No riding experience whatsoever, no not much to compare it to... Other than my newest bike, a DR200. Off-road, it's light and does a sufficient job on easy trails. On road, it will top out at 55-57 downhill, tucked in, WOT and with a tailwind. Cruises comfortably 35-45mph. Wheelies easily. Never jumped it. Never jumped it. Lighting is pretty dim. Overall a great bike and insane amounts of fun but it's honestly limited to 35mph roads.

The KX500 is like gold. It keeps going up in value. Nothing can touch the sheer raw power inside this monstrous engine. The KX500 is like gold. It keeps going up in value. Nothing can touch the sheer raw power inside this monstrous engine. Those that had 2-strokes when they were legal and allowed by the EPA knew what fun you can have day in and out. Now that the EPA killed 2-strokes; the value has only gone up faster than gold. MSRP in some cases has already been passed up for higher prices. The KX 500 is the most powerfull bike in the world. This bike will smoke any 4-stroker period! I am a pro since 1979 on my XR80! Those were experimental days. Since then the KX 500 is the final masterpiece. The bike is a little heavy compared to my skinny 250's but makes up hands down for the amount of disgusting cheating power it produces. It almost feels like I'm cheating everyone with their wimpy 4-strokes. See you in pits 4-strokers with a wrench in your hands. Seriously, just buy them all since they will be worth big money.

I'm sorry to lower the reliability rating because mine takes a lot of kicking to get started on a trail ride. Other than that, this is a very great bike. It has a lot of power and good handling at high speeds. I wouldn't recommend it for long rough trails, but it's great for Motocross. This bike flies across the track and is easy to move around in the air. If you need to save money by buying an older bike, buy this one, because mine works pretty well for a 10-year-old dirt bike. Mine is a big bore 144 with a racing muffler and a reed force valve. I bought it for $1,050, so I wouldn't recommend spending too much on an old bike. Wait a while and you may be surprised with what you might find. MY BIKE: The rear number plate and front number plate were painted turquoise, and the radiator shrouds are black. I honestly don't like how it looks very much, so remember not to get one with a custom paint job you don't like. Replacing plastic isn't cheap.

The bike has power where ever you need it. The power band seems never ending and will throw you on your back. The only thing I could complain about would be the suspension. This is the fastest bike I've ever ridden. With my brother's GPS tied around my neck, I got it to 39 mph in third, 48 in fourth, 56 in fifth and 64 in sixth (I didn't hit full speed in sixth and I was not on the road). I bought my scooter (first time 2 wheel rider) last August and loved riding it. I had problems getting it over 35 mph though. Come to find out, a recall was issued during the winter for just that situation. I have had it fixed and it was just returned to me yesterday. Am hoping that it is all repaired and ready to ride. I enjoyed every minute of my time on it last fall and would recommend this scooter to anyone who wants to try riding a two wheeler. It moves very well in traffic and the savings on gas is great. It feels great to have the wind in your face and simply enjoy what is around you as you travel these beautiful New England roads.

I've outgrown the bike, but it is still the best bike I have ever ridden because it has unimaginably amazing maneuverability and enough power for strolling up enormous hills like nobody's business. You can't ask for anything more in a bike. It is super lightweight, easy to ride and has an awesome powerband. It is easy to putt around the yard without ever fouling a sparkplug. It has awesome suspension and super great reliability. I can ride faster on this bike than many other big bikes because it is so easy to maneuver and control and so fun to scream through the gears.

I bought this bike used and I've got to tell ya, it is one heck of a bike. The powerband has a wicked hit. I was surprised in the trails with this bike. It could ride up hills and get through the tight turns. I mostly ride MX but ride some trails too. If you're looking for a really reliable MX bike... read more

It could ride up hills and get through the tight turns. I mostly ride MX but ride some trails too. If you're looking for a really reliable MX bike that works in the trails too, this is the one!
